    Job Description & Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Associate Director, Support Engineering, the Publisher Support Engineer – Video will implement, troubleshoot and optimize video players and video ads on our publishers’ websites. You have an eye for quality website design and a knack for creative ad strategy. As a core member of our operations team, you need to keep a cool head in spite of “fire drills” going on all around you. You will:

    • Provide solutions to technical and non-technical issues involving video advertising
    • Troubleshoot video players and ad tags on publisher’s websites
    • Assist new publishers during the on-boarding process for launching video players and units
    • Work with existing publishers to review performance data and identify ways to improve or optimize video placements
    • Research video trends and solutions to help inform Freestar’s video strategy
    • Become a subject matter expert for video advertising where you will regularly manage cross functional projects

    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years (minimum) in frontend web development or equivalent experience using javascript and HTML
    • 1-2 years experience in a technical support role, ad tech industry experience preferred
    • Familiarity with popular online video players and ad servers including Google Ad Manager and Springserve
    • Understanding of the web technologies behind online video and advertising
    • General understanding of how programmatic advertising works, especially within the video space
    • Experience debugging live websites; familiarity with reading ad code is preferred
    • Experience working with the Chrome developer console
    • Beginner to intermediate level of understanding of the AdTech world
    • The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
